December Daily

So I finally finished making my December Daily journal.. I actually finished it last week, but just now got the photos uploaded. I'm so excited to start writing in it! My goal is to always have my camera with me so I can photo-document my days as well as journaling.

I uploaded photos of all the finished pages on my Flickr. I'll try to update my blog with photos of the pages as I go through December, as well.

Its not too late to make one in time to enjoy during December! And its a great way to destash some of your scrapbooking collection. My favorite thing about this projects is that there are no restrictions, you can use anything you want to make it! If you do make one, share your link! I'd love to see it!

Christmas time??

Lately I've been doing a lot of thinking about Christmas! I just can't wait!

Since this last year I have been doing a lot of sewing, creating, and following so many wonderfully inspiring sewing/crafting blogs, I am going to try to make all my gifts this year!!

I am going to try to only use fabric I already have to make my sewing projects. For example, I am going to make some makeup pouches, hotpad and dish-rag sets, and other small items for women.

The issue is going to be deciding on what to make for men, like my dad and brothers. I haven't the slightest clue! I am hoping I find some inspiration on my favorite blogs soon!

I'm also going to make some goodies this year to give out, such as peppermint bark, chocolate dipped pretzels, sugar cookies, and whatever else I decide on!

Lastly, I'm going to be doing something for myself, a December Art Journal! I got the idea from Ashley, over at The Creative Place! I love this blog so much!! She always has the best crafts!! Anyway, its basically a "scrappy" journal where you can record your daily doings, the month of December. A couple months ago, I had ordered a found papers pack from The Creative Place etsy shop. This journal will finally give me a chance to use the lovely papers she included! I will definitely try and post pictures when I finally get started on it!

Anywho, as I get going on my holiday projects and gifts, I will do my best to keep everyone informed!

My first two weeks of school here at my new campus are officially over! So glad! I have tons of reading to catch up on, and lots of other homework. My first paper and first test both are due next week, which I am a little excited about (nerdy I know!).

So because of all that school goodness, I haven't had time to sew anything yet! I tried making a pretty little flower decoration with my free motion foot. But I really hate my free motion foot. If I have more then one layer of fabric it just doesn't work.

Maybe I just need to practice more.

On another school note though, I did something crazy last night! My roommate convinced me to go to the Sorority recruit night. Turns out its an entire weekend event. Tonight is night two. I'm actually excited. The sororities here are wonderful, their main focus is on school, and of course sisterhood. Hopefully I actually get invited back for tomorrows invite only party night. I have the perfect dress for the occasion :)

Until next time though, has anyone heard of Tillandsias? They are a plant, that grows without water or soil. So I bought some :) From toHold's Etsy shop. I got two of her magnets. and I love love love them!

I actually found the link to her shop from this blog, Ponder and Stitch. I love this blog! Its full of whimsy and makes me happy to see her new posts :)

I'm so excited to finally be starting this blog!
This summer I bought a sewing machine. And ever since then, I've become very aware of the online community of sewing bloggers. Its so fascinating!

I am very thrilled to be able to share my own creations, as well as talking about things I find that I like.

I have no formal sewing experience, and everything I have learned has been from watching my mother, or following tutorials on blogs. I love sewing small things like wallets and purses. I also have an interest in quilts. I finished my first quilt this summer, and can't wait to make more. Hopefully next time I will be more adventurous and try quilting it instead of tying it!

Anyway, I hope to share my projects on here with anyone that wants to view them!
Until next time...
